Since 1999, Essen Health Care has grown from a single practice to one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in New York, while never losing sight of our founding mission.

1999

Founded by Dr. Sumir Sahgal

Essen Health Care was established with a mission to bring quality healthcare to the Bronx.

2005

Expanded to 10 Locations

Rapid growth brought accessible care to more neighborhoods across the Bronx.

2010

Launched House Calls Program

A pioneering physician house calls program for homebound patients across NYC.

2015

Opened Specialty Care Centers

Added 28+ medical specialties, providing comprehensive care under one network.
