Essen Community Health Fair 2024: Free Screenings for the Bronx

Essen Health Care's annual Community Health Fair was a tremendous success this year, providing free health screenings to over 500 residents across the Bronx. Held at multiple locations over two weekends, the event offered blood pressure checks, blood glucose testing, cholesterol screenings, BMI assessments, and vision and hearing tests.

Beyond screenings, attendees had the opportunity to meet Essen providers, learn about available health services, and connect with community resources for food assistance, housing, and insurance enrollment. Our care coordination team helped dozens of uninsured and underinsured individuals navigate their options for affordable healthcare coverage.

Events like these are central to Essen Health Care's mission. We know that many health conditions in the Bronx go undiagnosed simply because residents lack access to routine screenings. By bringing healthcare into the community, we can identify risk factors early and connect people with the ongoing care they need.
